"This is a review about my experience at the RennShop.
Being somewhat of a perfectionist, I have always found it painful to select a worthwhile mechanic. However, I have to say that what happened for me at the RennShop exceeds my expectation.
My overall impression is that this place is a small, independent shop with a specialized focus on all makes of Porsche, new and old. Marvin, the mechanic is knowledgeable and a Porsche aficionado who cares about your car as much as you do.
His attention to details is impressive. At every stage of the repair, he took photos and saved them. After the repair I was shown all the old parts and the photos, without my asking. I couldn't remember the last time this has happened for me.
I would like to recommend RennShop to all Porsche owners who treasure excellent services. Marvin is a very personable mechanic who knows his art. He had worked with my schedule and returned my car promptly.
Personally, I found great value in his service as delivered. If you are in the market for Porsche services, it is probably worthwhile to give him a call."

"When I heard that Marvin started up his own shop, I was enthusiastic about the opportunity to have someone work on my car besides the dealership. I was looking for a more cost effective and personalized approach to some major work that was needed on my 911. I had known him from a previous dealership where he worked. On my first visit to the shop I was surprised by the professional and orderly manner in which business was conducted. He was very careful to detail out the work required, researched the prices, talked to me about other work that might be discovered and estimated the price to complete. Not only did he meet the quoted price which was significantly less than what the dealership would charge, but performed additional work that the car required after discussing it with me. Marvin is a very personable individual, very detailed in his approach and meticulous with his work while offering value pricing. I can highly recommend and will certainly be returning when needed."

"I have been Boxstering for 9 years and know dealership and independent Porsche mechanics. I heard a new independent Porsche shop had recently opened. I went by the shop to check it out since I was due for a clutch replacement at 67,000 miles. Marvin Weitz is the owner of RennShop. I remembered his face from one of the local dealerships. Marvin worked for 2 local Porsche dealerships over the years and then opened his own shop.
I spoke to Marvin at his shop a few times. He knew about the problem issues with my vehicle. He also has most of the factory tools and a PST2 and a Bosch Hammer, which is the diagnostic computers. I then spoke to some of the dealership mechanics I have known for years when Marvin use to work next to them. I checked out Marvin, and he checked out.
Marvin replaced the clutch, resealed the engine. and replaced the oil separator and fuel filter. My 1997 Boxster now drives like it did when I bought it.
Marvin is meticulous, like he was working on his own car."

"I'm always nervous to go to a new mechanic, but the owner set me at ease right away because I could tell he knew his stuff, didn't have an attitude and also suggested a few things that I had not thought about. Reasonable time frame, cost, and great results."

Was able to answer every question I had and I left feeling like I'd found a reasonably priced independant shop that I can trust my car with."

"5 Star+++++ After an unhappy experience at Steven's Creek Porsche, I've been searching for a Porsche repair/service shop for over a year now and I finally came across The RennShop. My first encounter with Marvin, the President/Owner of the shop has been quite an experience. I have a 2000 Boxster that needed a 60K maintenance service, a new battery, a check engine light problem, and other little items needing attention. Marvin was very attentive and courteous over the phone, had a great amount of knowledge/experience, and such an awesome personality and overall excellent customer service. Took my car to his shop which was very clean, organized, and not to mention, certified green (earth friendly) mechanic shop! He only carries and recommends the best parts for your Porsche with outstanding prices!!!
Marvin took his time with my Boxster, kept in touch with the details and let me decide which parts I wanted to go with and provide the pros/cons and cost. If you're looking for a Porsche mechanic who's honest, detail oriented, clean, organized, thorough with their work and service, believes in quality work and parts, then The RennShop is where to go for your Porsche service/repair needs!
My experience with The RennShop has made me know my car from the inside and out, and not to mention the underneath! When I got my Boxster back, it drove like a brand new car. He sat down with me and provided me with the each and every detail about the car and also gave me a copy of the 2 page inspection list (kind of like a car evaluation health list). I thought wow, he's more thorough than other car specialist shops I've been to and even more thorough than any of my doctors!
Marvin definitely exceeded my expectations! Service and parts are of the highest quality I have every experienced and not to mention, affordable. If you visit his website, you'll find pictures of projects he worked on and as clean as it shows on-line is what you'll find at his shop. After taking my Boxster there, I would not consider taking it to a dealership for service or any other specialized Porsche shops. Now I'm thinking of getting another Porsche. There's nothing like purchasing a Porsche with an awesome mechanic!"

"The RennShop specializes in all Porsche automobiles. I had a 4 cylinder engine built for my 914 by a local machine shop, but I needed someone to swap out the old engine. The job entailed a little more than just bolting up the new motor. Marvin handled everything from fabing up a bracket to relocate the throttle cable, to redoing some of the wiring harness to make things work. The end result is beautiful and functional, with close attention to details. I wouldn't take a Porsche anywhere else for service."

"The RennShop is a one-man Porsche shop. Marvin (owner) is practically an expert. He is very personable and makes a real effort to explain to you what is going on and what needs to be done. The shop is very clean. Prices are reasonable. Work is done within a reasonable time and the work is done WELL. I've had him replace/repair my entire cooling system, do some transmission work, and will be going back the next time I need anything."
